Mayzie got her Red Cross swimming lesson card from her swim instructor today. She ran it over to where I was sitting looking proud. I thought she was proud she passed her level, however this is what she said as she brought it to me.

"Look mommy, my teacher gave a gift card to target for doing super good."

She thought she was going shopping.

Racquetball anyone?

These are Georgia's new glasses. But we are getting a new pair. As it turns out the lady measured her and her head measures for baby glasses but she's is two and her temples are too long so the lens pushes against her eye. We have already picked out her new big girl pair and since it was the store's mistake they let us keep this pair. The new pair are quite a bit more stylish :)

I get a kick out of them! I feel like I need to dress her in tennis skirts and give her a racquet!!!

Stay timed for some pics of the next pair.

Cute lil four eyes!!!

First thing in the morning

Nights when daddy is out of town are always...rough, I guess. Everyone is up at some point during the night. But eventually you all fall asleep. And then my alarm goes off about 20 minutes later.

But how could my day possibly start off on the wrong foot when this is the first thing I see?

Long days (nights)....short years.

Mommy

You are 2 Years Old!

How can this be?  June 9, 2010 at 9:45 and 9:46 am the Nixon family became part of the twin phenom.  I remember looking at both of you all snuggled up together before we put you in your carseats to take you home. "Now what?!"  I thought.  I know it can't be this easy!  I was right it wasn't this easy.

Fast forward to a week later, after I had been up all night tandem nursing and trying to put two babies back to sleep while also trying to meet the needs of a 3 year old and 19 month old, and I remember thinking, "I might have this figured out in two years!?"

Well here we are two years later (how, I don't know?!) and while we have  had (until we added a new baby into this mix) figured most of this twin thing out some parts we never will.  What I do know is this;  its worth all the extra mess, laundry, tears, toddler girl drama, fights (already over shoes and clothes) , diapers etc...it is worth it.  I can't imagine one of you without the other.  It is amazing watching you grow up together!

Happy 2nd Birthday girls!!  There was a time at 38 1/2 weeks pregnant that I thought the time for you to be born would NEVER EVER ARRIVE...and here we are, 2 years later and you have taught us so much already!
New born

Mommy

Nibbles

This is a conversation I heard.

Theo:  "Mayzie, put your clothes on, I am tired of looking at your nibbles."

Mayzie:  "I not have nibbles, I have boo boos."

Theo:  "No Mayz, those are nibbles.  You will have boo boos when you are a mom."

Mayzie:  "Oh yeah, and my nibbles will be so super big."

All blue eyes...

Yes, all blue eyes. There is no doubt that you all have the same exact blue eyes. But I'm not ready to make the call that you'll all be blondies. Check out that red hair! Is Liza finally that redhead I've been waiting for? I hope so!

Twin Sister

Don't you think the world would be a wonderful, happy place if every girl had a twin sister to go through life with?
